The College of Education for Humanities Organizes a Scientific Seminar on the Linguistic Standards of Quranic Vocabulary
The Arabic Language Department at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, in cooperation with the Guidance Unit, organized a scientific seminar on the linguistic standards of Quranic vocabulary, with the participation of students from the department.
The seminar aimed to broaden the students' scientific and academic horizons, deepen their understanding of the precise linguistic connotations in the Quranic text, and analyze Quranic vocabulary within its rhetorical and semantic context.
The seminar, presented by a number of professors from the department, highlighted the importance of linguistic standards in interpreting Quranic vocabulary, the necessity of considering context, the reasons for revelation, derivation, and phonetic and syntactic meaning, as well as the impact of meaning in guiding the correct understanding of the text.
The seminar emphasized the need to raise students' awareness of the dangers of erroneous intellectual challenges and the importance of disseminating a culture of sound religious awareness, which strengthens ethical and behavioral values in society.
