


The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized two scientific discussion sessions attended by the department’s faculty members. The sessions addressed two important topics in the fields of scientific research and digital technologies.
The first session was titled “The Use of Mixed Analysis in Scientific Research,” presented by Assistant Professor Haitham Mahdi Matooq, in which he discussed the concept of mixed analysis that combines quantitative and qualitative methods and its importance in enhancing the accuracy of scientific results and developing academic studies.
The second discussion session was titled “The Dark Web,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Shaker Taher Basht, in which he addressed the concept of the dark web, how it works, its main uses, as well as the challenges and risks associated with it in the digital space.
The Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Amal Abdul Rahman, emphasized that organizing such discussion sessions contributes to enhancing scientific awareness and developing research skills among faculty members.
