The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts, organized an awareness-raising cultural seminar titled “Insights into the Life of Imam Ali (peace be upon him)”. The seminar was attended by faculty members from the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, as well as staff members from the Human Resources units of the Cultural Center at the University of Basrah and the same department in the College of Arts.
The seminar was moderated by Professor Dr. Amal Abdul Rahman, Head of the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of recalling the life of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and the noble human and moral values it represents.
The seminar included two lectures delivered by Sheikh Ali Mufeed Al-Maliki and Lecturer Ali Muhair Karim, who discussed aspects of Imam Ali’s life, his bravery in defending the principles of Islam, and his heroic roles in the battles of Badr, Uhud, and the Trench, along with other battles.
In a statement, Professor Dr. Amal Abdul Rahman noted that one of Imam Ali’s most courageous acts was when he slept in the bed of the Prophet of Mercy, Muhammad ibn Abdullah (peace and blessings be upon him), on the night of the migration (Hijra), sacrificing himself to protect the Prophet and the message of Islam. This act remains a timeless example of courage, loyalty, and justice throughout history.
