University of Basrah Presidency Announces Suspension of Eid Al-Fitr Greetings
The Presidency of the University of Basrah has announced its apology for not receiving or exchanging greetings on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
The President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, explained that this decision comes in light of the painful circumstances currently affecting Iraq and the region in general, and the grave events that have caused deep sorrow. This is particularly due to the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may he rest in peace), along with a number of leaders and prominent figures, in addition to a group of Iraqi Army and Popular Mobilization Forces members who sacrificed their lives in defense of values and principles.
He added that the university, sharing in the grief of its people, finds it appropriate to observe this occasion in a spirit of solidarity and consolation, without holding celebratory receptions or exchanges of greetings.
He further noted that these blessed days are passing with hearts heavy with pain, remembering with great reverence the sacrifices of the martyrs who wrote the finest epics of heroism and self-sacrifice, affirming that their memory will remain immortal in the conscience of the nation.
He concluded with prayers to Almighty God to grant the martyrs His vast mercy, to bless the wounded with a speedy recovery, and to protect Iraq and its people from all harm.
