The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a lecture titled “Solar Energetic Particles (SEPs): Acceleration, Transport, and Measurement,” presented by Dr. Firas Muhyi Balbul, with the participation of several faculty members and graduate students.
The lecture aimed to enhance theoretical knowledge and practical skills in space physics, addressing the classification of particles and the mechanisms of their acceleration and transport in the interplanetary medium, as well as measurement techniques using satellites.
It recommended the need to develop more accurate predictive models and link observational data to physical models, with a focus on studying the effects of radiation on space technologies.
