As part of scientific cooperation between the Date Palm Research Center and the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah, the Center received a scientific team from the Aquaculture Unit at the College of Agriculture in a visit aimed at exploring modern techniques used in plant tissue culture.
The visiting team included a number of faculty members and researchers, who were introduced to the working mechanisms داخل the tissue culture laboratory, as well as the techniques adopted in the tissue propagation of date palms and the stages of their acclimatization to natural conditions.
The visit included a detailed explanation delivered by Prof. Khayoun Ali Mohsen on the main equipment used in the laboratory, the stages of tissue culture propagation, in addition to the key challenges facing plants propagated داخل the laboratory and ways to address them.
The scientific team expressed their engagement and interest in the advanced scientific and technical level of the Center, praising the continuous support of the University Presidency and the efforts made by the Center’s administration and researchers in the field of tissue culture.
This visit comes as part of the University’s efforts to strengthen scientific cooperation and exchange expertise among its colleges and research centers, contributing to the development of research work and serving the agricultural sector.
