The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah conducted a training lecture as part of the first module of the Seventh Teaching Methods Course.
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Rafid Abduljabbar Mohammed, addressed teaching and learning approaches in applied specializations. It reviewed the concepts of teaching and learning, clarified the distinction between teaching and training, and outlined the key components of the educational process.
It further focused on effective instructional strategies, including direct instruction, brainstorming, discussion-based learning, and the use of modern technologies.
The lecture also examined essential teaching skills that contribute to enhancing the student academic experience and strengthening university instructors’ competencies, thereby ensuring the achievement of distinguished learning outcomes.
