A Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Marine Insurance as a Moderating Variable in the Relationship Between Proactive Leadership and Maritime Risk Reduction Strategies:

A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, examined the role of marine insurance as a moderating variable in the relationship between proactive leadership and maritime risk reduction strategies. The study, conducted at the General Company for Iraqi Ports, was an exploratory study.

The thesis, submitted by student Ali Saadi Taher, aimed to enhance the company's ability to confront potential maritime risks. It analyzed the role of proactive leadership in adopting effective strategies to mitigate these risks and demonstrated the contribution of marine insurance, as a moderating variable, in strengthening this relationship. This, in turn, contributes to improving operational performance and supporting decision-makers in adopting more effective administrative and insurance policies.

The thesis employed a descriptive-analytical methodology. Data was collected from a sample of administrative and technical leaders at the General Company for Iraqi Ports using a questionnaire, and analyzed using statistical software (SPSS, AMOS, JASP, Excel). The letter recommended integrating marine insurance into risk management policies and raising leadership awareness of its importance as a strategic factor supporting sustainability and contributing to reducing future marine risks.
