The College of Science, Department of Mathematics, discussed a master's thesis entitled "Domination Number and Edges Deletion Problem of Generalized Petersen Graph" by graduate student Zahraa Jameel Alwan. The thesis aims to study the generalized Petersen graph GP(n,k), which is a graph with vertices V and edges E at a frequency k. The thesis included an explanation of how this graph is used in studying networks, image processing, encryption, and other applications. It addressed this graph from two perspectives: first, the dominance number in the binary and ternary types, and second, the effect of deleting some edges from this graph on the diagonal. This was achieved by attempting to solve the edge deletion problem, given the importance of the diagonal as the best measure of network efficiency.
