The Polymer Research Center at the University of Basra visited the Basra Environment Directorate to discuss and enhance scientific cooperation. Dr. Ali W. Ahmed, Director General of the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region, emphasized the importance of strengthening joint cooperation between government institutions, universities, and research centers in supporting environmental work and developing scientific solutions to address environmental challenges. Ms. Zafra Mahjar Ta'ma, Director of the Basra Environment Directorate, explained that the Directorate received a scientific delegation from the Polymer Research Center at the University of Basra, headed by the Center's Director, Dr. Zainab J. S, and the Center's teaching staff, to explore avenues for joint cooperation. The visit included discussions on the possibility of holding training courses, seminars, and workshops, as well as establishing a mechanism for joint cooperation in exchanging expertise and supporting scientific and environmental ideas and projects, in line with the Ministry's directives to develop the environmental sector and strengthen partnerships with academic institutions.
