1. Epidemiological and Health Analysis: Studying the impact of giardiasis in communities, particularly among children, and its association with stunted growth and secondary malnutrition.
2. Molecular Typing: Using advanced molecular techniques to identify the dominant genetic assemblages in human infections and to differentiate between human and animal strains.
3. Genetic Marker Efficiency: Evaluating the performance and sensitivity of various genes, such as tpi, gdh, and bg, in accurately detecting and classifying the parasite.
4. Drug Resistance Study: Highlighting the molecular mechanisms of albendazole resistance by tracking genetic mutations in the beta-tubulin protein.
5. Advanced Diagnostics: Reviewing the applications of RFLP and nested PCR as effective and low-cost tools for tracing sources of infection and disease outbreaks.
