A thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined (The Relationship of the Holy Qur'an to the Divine Scriptures: An Analytical Study of the Concepts of Verification and Dominance).
The Master's thesis, submitted by student Atheer Abdul-Amir Ali, aimed to achieve several objectives, including: clarifying the concepts of verification and dominance linguistically and Quranically; examining relevant Qur'anic verses and analyzing their implications within their general context; demonstrating how the Holy Qur'an verifies the divine scriptures in their doctrinal, legislative, and ethical foundations; and revealing the forms of the Holy Qur'an's dominance in the areas of evaluation, correction, and clarification, as a reference, standard, and arbiter in judging previous divine scriptures. The thesis comprised several chapters, sections, and subsections. The first chapter, titled "Conceptual Foundations and Qur'anic Basis for Verification and Authority in the Context of the Relationship with Divine Scriptures," was organized into three interconnected sections. These sections addressed the conceptual and linguistic issues related to the topic, employing an inductive-analytical research methodology that relies on analyzing and interpreting Qur'anic texts in light of reliable exegetical sources.
The second chapter, titled "Manifestations of the Qur'an's Verification of Divine Scriptures," was organized into four main sections that explored various aspects of Qur'anic verification, following the analytical methodology of Qur'anic induction. The third chapter, titled "Manifestations of the Qur'an's Authority over Divine Scriptures," was also organized into four main sections that examined the dimensions of Qur'anic authority in matters of belief, legislation, and ethics, as well as abrogation and alteration.
