The Date Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah has published the first issue of Volume 25 (2026) of the Basrah Journal for Date Palm Research.
The issue includes nine peer-reviewed scientific papers authored by Iraqi, Arab, and international researchers. The studies address a variety of topics related to date palms, including agricultural and environmental aspects, modern technologies associated with date palm cultivation and production development, pest management, and improving date fruit quality.
The journal is one of Iraq’s specialized and accredited scientific periodicals. It is dedicated to publishing high-quality research that contributes to the development of the date palm sector and supports the national agricultural economy. All papers published in the journal undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by specialists in the field.
The Director of the Date Palm Research Center emphasized that the publication of this issue is part of the Center’s strategy to promote scientific research, facilitate the exchange of expertise among researchers, and provide practical solutions to the challenges facing date palm cultivation in Iraq and the region.
It is worth noting that the Basrah Journal for Date Palm Research is published semiannually and focuses on studies covering all disciplines related to date palm and date fruit sciences.
