The Polymer Research Center at the University of Basra received a ministerial committee today, headed by the Director of Scientific Affairs/Research and Development, Dr. Saleh Abdul-Jabbar Saleh, and Dr. Bashar Mohammed. The committee's visit aimed to evaluate the center according to a research center evaluation form, to review its scientific and research capabilities, and to monitor its operations, in line with the Ministry's directives to support scientific research and develop specialized research centers.
The delegation was received by the Director of the Polymer Research Center, Dr. Zainab J. Sweah, and a number of researchers and faculty members. A brief presentation was given on the center's most prominent scientific activities and applied research, as well as the research projects and consulting services it provides to government institutions. The visit included a field tour of the center's laboratories and research units, during which the ministerial committee was briefed on the modern equipment and technologies used in conducting tests and analyses, and the work mechanisms followed in carrying out studies and research related to polymer technologies and their various applications.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides expressed their hope for continued cooperation and coordination to achieve common goals in developing scientific research and enhancing the role of research centers in finding scientific solutions to industrial challenges.
