The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra held a training course entitled “Negotiation Management.”
The course aimed to develop participants’ skills in modern negotiation techniques and how to achieve positive outcomes for institutions, as well as to introduce them to negotiation tactics and build the character of a successful negotiator.
The course, presented by Dr. Areej Karim Rahman, covered several topics, including the concept and principles of negotiation, negotiating behavior, motivation, the nature of disputed issues, and the formation, characteristics, and effectiveness of negotiation teams.
The course emphasized the importance of active listening, setting goals before negotiating, maintaining composure, and separating emotions from decision-making.
