A Master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined "Spatial Suitability of Geographical Characteristics and Human Uses in Al-Haritha District Using Modern Geographical Techniques." The thesis, submitted by student Hassan Abdul-Razzaq Abbas Al-Khafaji, aimed to develop multi-criteria spatial suitability models for selecting the most suitable locations for various development projects. These projects included identifying the most appropriate sites for water storage facilities, tourism projects, renewable energy projects, and industrial cities. The thesis also aimed to produce and analyze thematic maps of the natural and human characteristics of the study area using high-resolution visualization. The thesis comprised four chapters: the theoretical framework and concepts, the cartographic representation of natural and human characteristics in Al-Haritha District, and the spatial suitability of the relationship between geographical characteristics and human uses.
