A Master's thesis at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra examined the features of argumentation in the poetry of the Taifa period in Andalusia (422 AH - 484 AH): An Analytical Study.

The thesis, submitted by student Layali Saeed Nouri Obeid, aimed to clarify the concept of argumentation in Andalusian poetry during the era of the Taifa kings. Argumentation acquired a significant dimension in revealing the underlying meanings of the poetic text and interpreting the intellectual and aesthetic motivations that contributed to its formation, relying on the direct and indirect use of textual and logical evidence.

The thesis also explored the style of argumentation in Andalusian poetry as an artistic and intellectual system that contributed to constructing the poetic discourse and engaging and influencing the reader. The study concluded that reasoning was a pivotal element in shaping Andalusian poetry during the Taifa period, playing an active role in constructing meaning and guiding the text's significance, and contributing to the integration of aesthetic and intellectual dimensions. It also demonstrated that Andalusian poets successfully employed reasoning techniques within the poetic structure based on imagery and rhythm, without compromising the poetic quality of the texts or the creativity of their poets.
