A Master's Thesis at the University of Basra Entitled "Center and Periphery in Environmental Poetry: A Critical Study of Contemporary Environmental Poetry"
The Master's thesis submitted by student Ibtihal Ahmed Jassim at the College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra, explored the topic of "Center and Periphery in Environmental Poetry: A Critical Study of Contemporary Environmental Poetry."
The thesis aims to study contemporary environmental poetry and its connection to the current environmental crisis. The study seeks to analyze the extent to which contemporary environmental poetry interacts with the central and peripheral approaches of environmental criticism.
The study gains its significance by offering a critical evaluation of a number of contemporary poems. It demonstrates that the central and peripheral approaches of environmental poetry reveal an intertwining of prevailing environmental problems with established branches of knowledge in order to highlight the reciprocal relationship between these branches and environmental criticism.
