A doctoral dissertation at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra, titled "Moderate Approaches in the Thought of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him)," explored these themes.
The dissertation, submitted by student Yusuf Kazar Zaboun, aimed to uncover the moderate approaches in the thought of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), clarifying their doctrinal, intellectual, devotional, cultural, and developmental foundations. It also highlighted the moderate methodology adopted by Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) in addressing intellectual, social, and humanitarian issues, thereby promoting the values of moderation and balance while rejecting extremism, fanaticism, and deviation.
The nature of the study necessitated its division into four chapters, preceded by an introduction, followed by a conclusion, and then a list of sources and references. The study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which is that moderation represents an authentic approach in the thought of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), and its features have appeared in various doctrinal, intellectual, devotional, cultural and developmental fields. The study also revealed the ability of this approach to achieve balance between different trends, confront extremism and deviation, and build a balanced cognitive vision based on reason, evidence and moderation.
