The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, organized a scientific workshop entitled "How to Verify the Authenticity of Scientific Journals."
The workshop featured a practical lecture delivered by Dr. Qutaiba Abdulkarim Qasim, where attendees actively participated in auditing several scientific journals and verifying their authenticity and indexing using the Scopus platform and various specialized tools and websites for journal verification, in addition to detecting predatory and hijacked journals and reviewing publishers' data and indexing information.
The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of researchers and postgraduate students in selecting reputable scientific journals and avoiding predatory and fake journals, thereby contributing to the support of scientific research quality and sound academic publishing.
