The President of University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi, participated in the Second International Conference on E-learning entitled (Let’s Make Distances Closer), which was organized by the specialized ministerial team with the participation of 100 international and local institutions and more than 50 international speakers and experts
The participation included a speech by the President of the University, Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi and a presentation on the university’s achievements, when he praised the great efforts made by the academics to find solutions to confront the Corona pandemic and not miss the academic year even though they don’t know hoe it will end. By working night and day, everyone succeeded in establishing electronic education that tended to perfection, sobriety and smoothness while preserving educational values
Shahin added that with the beginning of the current academic year, we set out for both attending and online education, and it was challenging to provide a complete education program by using laboratories on campus with virtual interactive lectures, as well as digital learning resources and smart courses, and this was an important strategic choice for success
Regarding the University of Basrah, Shahin mentioned that the university gradually transformed into a digital university, and it made many achievements with the support of the ministerial team. The university entered the global rankings as it won the top ranks locally. Today our university is joining the (GURP) gathering which allows the university to undergo the Shanghai evaluation
To manage E-learning the academic program committee was formed and E-learning units was founded in every college in the university. In addition to all that, the University of Basrah electronic gate, which contains multiple programs to serve students until their graduation, was created
