The Department of Dormitories Affairs at Basra University organized a workshop on how to avoid and address domestic violence
The workshop, which was delivered by the specialist in educational and counseling sciences, Dr. Hana Abd al-Nabi al-Abadi, aimed to prepare the supervisors working in female students dorms on how to deal with the effects of domestic abuse among resident students
The workshop dealt with modern scientific theories in explaining violence, analyzing its direct and indirect causes, explaining ways to conduct treatment sessions that mitigate the effects of the phenomenon and provide moral and psychological support for students to raise their academic achievement and efficiency and illustrating how to occupy the place of the family in their absence
