The issuance of a book for teaching at Basra University on the coast of Basra
A lecturer at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Abdul-Daem Al-Mansour, issued a book entitled (The Clans of Basra's Coast in Modern History and Their National Positions)
The book, which included two chapters, an introduction and a conclusion, as well as an important set of appendices and personal interviews distributed over 84 pages of large pieces, dealt with the book highlighting the most important clans that settled on the coast of Basra and extending from the confluence of the Tigris and Euphrates in the Shatt al-Arab at Karma Ali down to the south of Faw and from the eastern sides. And the western and the historical relations between them and the clans that settled in the Arabistan region and the alliances that linked it, and the historical role of Sheikh Khazal Amir Al Muhammarah in preserving the unity of these clans through what is known as the Muhaisin alliance and the historical role played by the most important and largest of these clans, namely the Albu Maarif clan, which took over The book highlights it in particular, as it was able, with its simple ability, to extract part of the Shatt al-Arab and reclaim it and inhabit it, such as the famous Umm al-Rasas Island, Umm al-Khusayf, Umm al-Jababi, al-Ramiyah and others, as well as its possession of a large number of fighters and weapons that formed through them a force that was able to defend the region from Iranian and other foreign interventions As much as possible .
In addition to the above, the researcher tried to show the patriotic and honorable role of the clans of the coast of Basra and those who supported them from the sheikhs and sons of other tribes and national figures in confronting the British forces that occupied Basra in World War I in 1914 in four important battles that researchers ignored despite their importance before the decisive battle of the Shuaiba, namely (The Battle of Al-Faw, the Battle of Siba, the Battle of Seyhan, the last of which was the Battle of Kut Al-Zein), which Abha embodied pictures of cohesion between the people of the homeland in defending it against the invading British forces and highlighting the leadership role of the tribal sheikhs and their patriotic feelings in defending their country. The British praised it in their books despite ignoring the Ottoman Empire that was ruling Iraq in defense of Basra at the time
Finally, we hope that in this study we have been able to shed light on an important stage in the history of Basra and Iraq and the position of the people of Basra in defense of their city from the occupiers of all kinds, and to show the most important visual national and tribal figures that history ignored and had an important and honorable role, and God is the Grantor of success.
