The College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah held a seminar entitled (Negative effects resulting from the quarantine of people due to the Corona pandemic) with the participation of researchers and specialists. The seminar included a lecture given by a lecturer Heba Dawood Abdel-Wahab that shed light on the positive and negative effects resulting from the quarantine imposed by all countries of the world on people due to the Corona epidemic and its side effects, especially on the psychological, cardiac and muscular sides, where research has proven that people who have been quarantined for a period not exceeding ten days have symptoms of anxiety, nervous tension, insomnia, fear of losing loved ones and lack of focus, all of which lead to the formation of heart-damaging oxidative factors called ROS, which lead to high blood pressure, the formation of heart attacks and other diseases related to the cardiovascular system. The other negative factor resulting from the quarantine is its effect on the bones And muscles due to people not being exposed to sufficient amount of sunlight stimulating the formation of vitamin D necessary for the bones, as well as exposing them to acute lower back pain, especially school and university students because of their frequent sitting, their use of computer and mobile screens and their follow-up of social media, which led to the need to pay attention, follow-up and search for such important negative symptoms that affected on societies
