The Marine Science Centre at University of Basra represented Iraq for the first time after joining the Intergovernmental Committee for Indian Ocean Countries affiliated to UNESCO
The head of Physics and Marine Estuaries department at the center, Dr. Ali Basil Mahmoud, said, “The Marine Science Centre participated in the eighth session held in France for three days from May 17-19, where it presented a description of international programs related to the IOCINDIO work program based on practical frameworks determined by the Intergovernmental Committee (UNESCO - IOC)
