Prof. Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, the faculty member staff at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, participated in the scientific symposium that was held by the ARID scientific platform for researchers and under the slogan (Obesity and Microbiota) with the participation of researchers and specialists. The symposium included several axes, including the relationship of beneficial bacteria and obesity, and obesity’s role in reducing beneficial bacteria and the relationship of obesity with a decrease in beneficial bacteria and weight gain, in addition to the role of obesity in increasing the incidence of cardiovascular diseases because of its effect on increasing inflammatory factors and cytokines that predispose to inflammation.
