The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the "Application of phytoremediation" presented by Assist. Lecturer Enas Awni Mahdi. The workshop aimed at phytoremediation as developing cost-effective and environmentally friendly technologies for the remediation of soil and wastewater polluted with toxic substances is a topic of global interest. It refers to the natural ability of certain plants to bioaccumulate, degrade, or render harmless containments in soil, water, or air through the natural, biological, chemical, or physical activities and processes of plants.
