Assistant Professor Dr. Laila Jassem, a teaching assistant at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, participated in the workshop held by the College of Science at the University of Basrah, under the title (Technology of Compound Nanometric Materials and Its Various Applications), with the participation of researchers and specialists. The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Jado Bilal from Egypt, explaining the meaning of nano as the smallest metric unit and the importance of using small (nano) surfaces to increase the surface exposed to interaction. Then he reviewed a section of nano applications in different areas of life. The electronic chips used in storing information and nanocatalysts that speed up the reaction and reduce side materials, and nanocoating for foods, medicines and export materials to keep them from being damaged during exposure to oxygen, moisture or bacteria. And the use of nanotechnology in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and even surgeries, and the manufacture of electrons to measure temperature, sugar, oxygen, pressure, and others. It is possible to implant a nano-organ in the body of the organism after directing it to the affected organ, as well as treating water with nanomaterials and making fire-safe clothing because of its thermal stability and clothing that is easy to wash when exposed to dyes and fats due to mixing its fibers with nanomaterials.
