
The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah celebrated and honored a group of Basrah’s creators, who included a selection of trainers and employees who supervised the success of the second edition of “Our Youth are Life Makers” program, which was launched by the Center late last year and concluded at the beginning of last May
On the atmosphere of the honoring, the director of the center, Dr. Abdul Karim Abboud Odah, said, "A group of storytellers, playwrights, human development trainers, film directors and visual artists who contributed to the framing of training and formation courses for (Our Youth Life Makers) project in its second edition and the success of the activities of the third edition of (Child’s smile) project, which was held in the parks of Al-Farahidi Street in the center of Basrah to give care and attention to orphans and to develop their cultural and artistic skills, were honored”
Abboud added that the honoring which was done by the president of the university, Prof. Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi, included presenting the university's shield of excellence for each of the storyteller Basem Al-Qatrani, the playwright Abdel Karim Al-Amri, the film director Issam Jaafar, the photographer Mahmoud Al-Jazaery, the journalist Arkan Taqi, the human development coach Safa Al-Dahi and other artists such as Mortada Al-Eidani, Hassan Odeh and Abdelaziz Hussein to confirm the university’s support for their active role and fruitful efforts in providing the city and its youth with creativity and culture
