The researcher at the College of Law at University of Basrah, the instructor Etidal Abdul-Baqi, prepared and formulated the eight policies of the university that are required by THE IMPACT classification. These policies are

The policy which protects those who report discrimination and deprivation from education or employment
The policy which ensures access to educational outreach activities
The general policy of the university in supporting the academic freedom
The policy of discrimination against women
The policy which deals with women's requests and acceptance
The university policy towards local stakeholders outside the university
The University of Basrah's anti-smoking policy
These policies aim to include the University of Basrah within the international rankings, which contributes to raising the academic and scientific evaluation of the Iraqi universities internationally
