The College of Nursing at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basrah Oil Company, organized a workshop on occupational safety presented by Mr. Haider Hashim Al-Musawi - Occupational Safety Officer in the Basra Oil Company, and was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdulameer Abdullah Almusawi, Dean of the College and Administrative Assistant, lecturer Dr. Husham Hussain Abdul-Ra'aoof , and a numbers of the instructors and employees of the College The workshop included introducing the instructions of the Civil Defense, where the lecturer referred to the three axes of occupational safety, which are ambulance, rescue and evacuation. So, it was explained how to save the lives of those injured as a result of fires and explosions, and important advice was given in this regard. With regard to evacuation, the lecturer touched on how to evacuate personal and public buildings (offices and malls) in cases of earthquakes and large fires, and how to leave regularly and not cause chaos because they cause great losses. Finally, the attendees were practically trained on how to use fire extinguishers and explain the mechanism of firefighting and its types, as there are types of fire extinguishers such as CO2 dedicated to electrical power fires and POWDER extinguishers dedicated to extinguishing ordinary fires such as paper, wood and fabrics |
