Master's thesis at the University of Basra discusses (the manifestations of Bedouin and its images in the poetry of early Islam)
The master's thesis in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra, examined (Manifestations of Bedouinism and its images in the poetry of Sadr al-Islam) by the student (Hayat Salem Odeh).
The study dealt with (the Bedouin manifestations that managed to influence society in the era of early Islam, so the transition to the new urban life was not easy, and the response to the teachings of the new religion was not comprehensive for all Arabs, the conflict between the old and the new continued for a long time, despite the nation’s entry to Islam, which enlighten Their lives with concepts that blew up the old and inherited from the heritage of the ancestors, but the roots of the past infiltrated their lives - in some manifestations - through the vessels of the subconscious and the sedimentation of the ancestors stored in the memory of the grandchildren.
The study included four chapters preceded by an introduction and a prelude and followed by a conclusion. The first chapter dealt with the aspects of Bedouin nature in the poetry of that era, from animals, plants and conditions. The second chapter was concerned with studying Bedouin social aspects of values, customs and beliefs, as well as the authority of light on the aspects of public life. Aspects of daily life and the third chapter dealt with the Bedouin aspects in describing women in public life, and in family life, and their image in Bedouin spinning. As for the fourth chapter, it dealt with the artistic study of poetic language, artistic methods, poetic image and finally the innovated arts.
The thesis concluded, “The Bedouin adhered to his customs and traditions, which combined negativity - which Islam forbade - such as invasion, raiding, robbery and revenge, and at the same time they cherished their positive values that Islam encouraged - such as generosity, courage and protection of the neighbour, .. The research also sought the weakness of religious representation often The concepts and aspects of new life, as Bedouin dominates the aspects of life for many of them.
