The president of the university welcomed this visit and expressed the university's willingness for cooperation and twinning in the near future with the Russian Ural Federal University
The representative of Ural Federal University, Syskova Elisabeth, said that her visit is the first to Iraq and she intends to establish relations between their university and University of Basrah. She added that an institution for teaching the Russian language will be opened as an initial step, and in the near future there will be a branch of the Ural Federal University in Iraq
