One of the College of Dentistry students in the University of Basrah has delivered an interactive lecture about Removable orthodontic appliances
The lecture that was delivered by the student Sejad Sabah Thjeel under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hussein Shakir Saleh included the methods and reasons of why using Removable orthodontic appliances
The lecture aims to clarify the necessities of using this type of Orthodontic, most significant necessity is to move the teeth to their original place or to preserve distances between the teeth and to eliminate the harmful habits of both teeth and mouth.
The lecture also discussed the most important aspects of using Removable orthodontic appliances in comparison to fixed orthodontic as it can be removed easily for both cleaning it and the mouth in general better than the fixed orthodontic. in addition to it's low cost and easily constructed.
As the lecture illustrated some conditions that have side effects like gum pains, enamel damage, Gum recession with roots denuded, dental caries and speech problems, with clear aligners to be better-looking replacement then the standard orthodontic.
