The College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Basrah organized an electronic scientific symposium on: (Mutual Lexical Similarities Between Turkish and Arabic)
The symposium aimed to introduce similar or common vocabulary between the Arabic and Turkish languages and to identify the reasons behind this similarity
The symposium, which was presented by the Turkish professor (Dr. Havva Kurt Taşpinar) with the instructor in the English Department (Firas Fathi Ali), included a presentation for an hour and a half, followed by some general questions and answers and a presentation of some pictures of the landmarks of Basrah. The symposium lasted for two hours
