The College of Medicine at University of Basrah held a scientific seminar on respiratory symptoms in children
The seminar aimed to shed light on the developments of corona disease in children, methods of diagnosis and treatment, with a focus on respiratory symptoms
The seminar recommended the need to recognize the symptoms of the disease in children and the need to diagnose it early, especially now in the time of the pandemic
The seminar also stressed the need for pediatricians to be aware of the clinical signs of acute dyspnea syndrome that affected children may suffer from, and the need to treat these cases in intensive care units, according to approved international recommendations, and the importance of using a medical device “High flow nasal canula”
The lecturers explained the importance of using the device as a successful primary treatment method for patients with complications of the disease, especially acute dyspnea syndrome, and that the use of the above device replaces the use of the artificial respirator
