The Cultural Center at University of Basrah celebrated the conclusion of the “Threads of Light” course for teaching sewing in cooperation with the Association of the Blind in Basrah and with the participation of a group of blind women
The director of the center, Dr. Abdul-Kareem Aboud Odeh, said, "Today, the university is witnessing a great and unique event by embracing a segment of blind women, extending a helping hand for them and encouraging them by honoring them for this achievement, which confirms the human ability to challenge difficulties and permanent disabilities"
Abboud added - The work and activities carried out by the university are aimed at serving the community and maintaining the relationship with all its segments due to its sense of moral and human responsibility towards it, so we must harness all the university’s material and human capabilities and energies to serve this noble purpose to create a new life full of optimism, love and acceptance of the other regardless physical differences
