A master thesis entitled: "Synthesis Interpentrating Polymers Network ( IPNs ) from some Natural Polymers Isolated from Plant Sources and Study their Biological Applications" discusses the extraction of tannin compounds from three types of plants (green tea leaves, pomegranate peels, and orange peels) and were diagnosed by some color detection and infrared spectroscopy.
These extracts were combined with both Polyacrylamide and Polyacrylic acid to prepare six polymeric meshes. These networks were identified b infrared spectroscopy, which showed common absorption beams> Also the prepared polymers in this study were found to be thermally stable.
