A scientific study by Dr. Ali Abdul-Ridha Lafta, the instructor at the Marine Sciences Center at University of Basrah, examined the influence of atmosphere forces on sea-surface fluctuations in Iraq marine water, northwestern of Arabian Gulf
The study, which was published in the Arabian Journal Geosciences, classified within the Scopus Q2 containers and classified in the Clarvet database with an impact coefficient (1.98), showed that monthly and seasonal changes in sea level are associated with atmospheric pressure, temperature and changes in the wind regime
The study concluded that the sea level reaches its maximum height during the summer, while it decreases to its lowest level during the winter, and this is due to the tides
