University of Basrah revived the ceremony of raising the flag of the Husseini mourning coming from Karbala, marking the beginning of the ceremonies of the holy month of Muharram in memory of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them). It took place in the complex of Bab Al-Zubair colleges, in a spiritual atmosphere dominated by faith and reverence, and in the presence of an honorable delegation from the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, as well as academic and official public figures who expressed the depth of belonging to the family of the Prophet, peace be upon them
