Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, Assistant Professor Dr. Labid Abdullah Al-Saad, gave a lecture in the scientific workshop (the dangers of mycotoxins and the dialectic of their resistance), which was held by the College of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Baghdad, with a lecture entitled “Mycotoxins, a real danger can not be ignored” in which he addressed a brief explanation of the concept of Mycotoxins and the extent of the danger they cause to humans and animals
And the sources and mechanisms of food and feed contamination with them and how they are transmitted through the human food chain. Then he moved to clarify the most important foodstuffs that are the target of these toxins and classify the fungi that produce them and what their types are. After that, he presented a brief explanation of the arrangement of these toxins according to their danger with a detailed explanation of the pathological symptoms that they cause to humans and animals as well as He presented some proposed solutions and treatments to avoid contamination of food and limit its spread, because poisoning with this type of poison cannot be cured and often leads to damage to the affected tissues when exposed to high concentrations. In low concentrations, slow poisoning occurs, which is cancer, which often ends with the death of the patient.
Note that this type of poison is often colorless, tasteless, and odorless and is not affected by high temperatures or some common chemical and physical treatments, and here lies its danger.
