A PhD thesis at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah discussed the study of the effect of planting dates, phosphate fertilization and spraying with liquid sulfur on the growth and yield of broccoli grown in the desert lands of southern Iraq.

The thesis aims to reach the most appropriate date for planting broccoli in the desert lands of southern Iraq and reached the optimal use of the fertilizer level used and the optimal concentration of liquid sulfur used in the study
The thesis recommended the necessity of spreading the cultivation of this crop in the country because of its medical and economic benefits, and planting it on time (1/9) in the conditions of the desert region in the province of Basrah.
