The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held a workshop on the Iraqi classification project for public and private universities and colleges
The workshop, organized by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, which was held at Al-Mustansiriya University, in the presence of the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, Dr. Yassin Muhammad Hamad Al-Ithawi, and representatives of public and private universities, reviewed the indicators of the proposed classification forms and evaluation criteria
In this context, the head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, said in his speech that the project of the classification of Iraqi universities and colleges simulates and adopts international quality standards and will provide an atmosphere for competition and upgrading the educational process by improving its environment, empowering its students and raising the performance of its teaching staff, as well as highlighting the achievements by publishing its research in reliable journals and winning scientific awards
He explained that the project adopts comprehensive indicators, some of which are concerned with evaluating institutional performance, and some are concerned with scientific departments, contributes to the implementation of institutional and program accreditation programs and international classifications, and measures the effectiveness of scientific research
The participants discussed the axes and nature of the classification form and its indicators according to the proposed standards and weights that take into account the privacy of Iraqi universities and achieve the set goals
