The lecturer, Dr. Husham Hussain Abdul-Ra'aoof , the assistant dean for administrative affairs at the College of Nursing at the University of Basrah, published a scientific article in the Iraqi scientific journal Salamtak.
The article was entitled (Radiology, its definition, its branches, medical imaging techniques and their applications) and was published in the ninth issue (September 2021) of Salamatak journal, which is a quarterly magazine concerned with health culture and is issued by the Iraqi Association for Medical Research and Studies, which is based in Basrah. In the article, he discussed radiology, the science that uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the human body. Three specialties have emerged during the past fifty years, namely, diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine.
He also showed the work of a radiologist or physicist because of its key role in examining patients, and he also mentioned that medical imaging techniques include: X-ray imaging, fluoroscopy, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine.
