The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at University of Basrah organized a workshop on the Iraqi classification of universities 2020-2021 in the presence of the assistant deans for scientific affairs, directors of departments and directors of quality in colleges and research centers
The workshop aimed to set standards and indicators for all aspects of the educational process, which gives a national classification for Iraqi universities and helps them improve their positions in international rankings and also contributes to the implementation of other programs such as institutional and program accreditation and the effectiveness of scientific research
The workshop included urging colleges and scientific departments to prepare to apply the Iraqi classification of universities electronically and to enter all data with high transparency for the previous five years, and there will be a ministerial review in this regard. Also, during the workshop, researchers were stressed on the need to stay away from predatory magazines, as they lower the rating, while emphasizing that colleges in which there is no class graduated during 2019-2020 will not be evaluated
