An Instructor at the Continuing Education and Development Center at Basrah University, Dr. Wisal Odah Hassan, published a scientific research on the microbial evaluation of breast milk for lactating and non-lactating women from Dhi Qar Governorate
The aim of the research is to indicate the presence of a microbial community in milk in both lactating and non-lactating women, in addition to examining some statistical relationships between the different variables
The research included sampling from approximately 90 women aged 20-35 years after childbirth at different periods, and after transplantation, isolation, pigmentation and genetic diagnostic techniques, 60 were selected for the sequencing genetic technique, 54 isolates were diagnosed, in which the predominant bacteria were Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, Leuconostoc, respectively, and other species, in addition to the emergence of Candida yeasts. Significant differences appeared in relation to the type of breastfeeding, but did not appear among the other relations
