The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research held a joint meeting with the Federal Board Of Supreme Audit to discuss joint cooperation, enhance legal accounting specialization and develop expertise
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, said during the meeting, which was held at the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, that higher education institutions are keen to integrate with ministries and institutions and provide an environment for cooperation with regulatory authorities, especially the Federal Board Of Supreme Audit, and to agree on a high level of transparency in procedures and assessing and providing solutions
The Minister of Higher Education directed public and private universities and colleges to support the representatives of the Federal Board Of Supreme Audit, provide them with the appropriate place, facilitate procedures related to financial control, fully comply with laws and fundamentalist contexts, and submit financial statements in accordance with the correspondences and timings determined by the competent supervisory authorities
He urged scientific coordination, strengthening legal accounting specialization, developing expertise in the Federal Board Of Supreme Audit, and giving them priority in admission to the Higher Institute for Accounting and Financial Studies
For his side, the President of the Federal Board Of Supreme Audit, Mr. Rafel Yassin Khudair, praised the cooperation shown by the Ministry of Education and its academic institutions, pointing to the importance of direct dialogues and strengthening the pathways of communication and coordination that facilitate the task of the supervisory authority exercised by the competent institutions
The meeting individuals, in the presence of the Vice President of the Board, a number of its general directors, the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, the President of the University of Baghdad, the President of the Central Technical University, the Director of the Administrative and Financial Department, the Director of the Legal Department, the Director of the Private University Education Department, and a group of contracting officials, discussed the items on the agenda, which included several areas, including auditing the financial statements of public and private universities and colleges, the area of application of laws and instructions, the need to review and amend some of its articles, the area of the Higher Education Fund and advisory offices, the revenues resulting from them and the sources of expenditure from them in the light of legal determinants and coordination of work between the internal audit departments at the Ministry’s headquarters with the Federal Board Of Supreme Audit
