Members in the Department of Microbiology at University of Basrah - College of medicine, obtained a patent entitled: Preparation of a new Iraqi and international transportation medium IQBASMED VTM to save patient samples for the Corona virus Covid_19, from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control. For the first time at the world level, a new transportation medium with unique characteristics was prepared and used to preserve samples that taken from the mouth, pharynx and nose of a patient infected with the Corona virus 19-Covid, and transporting and diagnosing them using globally approved molecular methods, and the transporting medium used for the first time in this studies ,it is Iraqi in the idea and the originality.
