A faculty member from the University of Basrah has been selected as a member of the Monitoring Committee for the Resolutions of the Supreme Council for Youth.
Dr. Shukri Shakir Faleh, Director of the Registration and Student Affairs Department at the University of Basrah, was chosen as a representative by the local government to be part of the committee monitoring the resolutions issued by the Supreme Council for Youth, which is affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
Dr. Shakir stated, "We held a regular meeting today to discuss ways to implement the suggestions and decisions of the Supreme Council for Youth. These involve obligating all government departments and entities to vacate facilities owned by or allocated to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the method of launching the electronic form for the national competition for youth programs, aiming to select around 100 programs and initiatives submitted by non-governmental organizations. Additionally, we have nominated a number of young activists from Basra province to work within the national team for combating climate change, with our commitment to enhancing the role of Basra’s youth in addressing environmental challenges and developing programs and solutions for climate challenges, with this team being linked to the Supreme Council for Youth at a later stage."
