A PhD Thesis at University of Basrah Seeks to Isolate and Diagnose Fungi in Fava Beans
A doctoral thesis at the University of Basrah, College of Agriculture, sought to isolate and diagnose fungi that cause leaf and pod spotting on fava beans and methods of controlling them.
The thesis of doctoral student Baida Ghazi Awfi showed the recording of 33 fungi belonging to 12 genera, most of which were recorded for the first time in Iraq on fava beans.
In addition to studying the effect of nanomaterials and growth regulators on these fungi in the laboratory and field, the study also included a study of the sensitivity of different fava bean varieties to the isolated fungi.
The thesis concluded the ability of nanomaterials and growth regulators to inhibit fungi that cause spots on fava beans in the laboratory and field.
